Question:
Hello Carolyn,
Greetings from Montreal Canada.
Firstly let me say that you've got a great web site.
Having briefly looked over your work, I think you just may be the person who might be able to answer a question concerning the legendary Merlin.
You may be aware, that at the time of the appearance of Joan of Arc, during the later stages of the Hundred Years War, there were several folkloric prophecies circulating announcing the arrival of a young woman (a girl?) who would save France from ruin. Historians, engaged in scholarly studies of the French saint, recount that one of the prophecies came from Merlin.
As one who has become fascinated by the life and times of Joan, I would like to know if you have indeed heard of this and if you may know as to which particular text the prophecy originates?
Wishing you well
Brian

Answer:
Hi Brian,
Boy you really threw me a doozy! Well, offhand, nope I did not know the answer to that one but I did some quick searching... This looks like the most useful thing I could find, I hope this link works...
If that link doesn't work, google "The maid of France: being the story of the life and death of Jeanne d'Arc" By Andrew Lang, it's on page 33 and it's free a free book through google books.
So according to that book, the prophecy is attributed to Merlin by Geoffrey of Monmouth, so I'm guessing it came from this manuscript:

Hope that's what you needed :-)
